In April 2024, PCH teamed up with Luna’s Fund for 12 months of charity fundraising to raise funds to help the charity provide practical and emotional support to bereaved parents in Plymouth, Truro and the surrounding areas following the loss of their baby.
Over the last 12 months, staff have come together to raise an incredible £7,027.30 for Luna’s Fund to support parents after the loss of their baby before, during or after birth by offering a choice of practical services that they can access immediately upon leaving the hospital.
Following a vigorous selection process, staff selected Luna’s Fund as their Charity of the Year for 2024-2025 following a company-wide employee vote and final vote on the shortlist by our Executive Management Team.
The charity fundraising was kicked off with an initial £500 corporate donation in April 2024, and the fundraising efforts have been led by a team of volunteer staff members who regularly attended charity steering group meetings to make plans for the different fundraising events.
Throughout the year, PCH organised a whole host of fundraising events which included a charity football match, a quiz night, regular lunchtime quizzes, Bring Your Dog to Work Days and more. As well as this, PCH held regular raffles to win a VIP parking space for a month, staff contributed to the cause through auctioning off their raffle prizes to raise extra funds, and individuals took on challenges to raise even more money, including through a Skydive, the Plymouth 10K and a one-half marathon a month challenge.
In March 2025, Luna’s Fund was presented with a final £500 corporate donation from the Executive Management team at PCH by Rebecca Hocking, Communications Officer and Charity Steering Group Lead.
We would like to extend our thanks to our staff for taking part in the fundraising events and donating to the charity of the year and the Executive Management team for their corporate donations. We would also like to thank the local organisations who have generously donated raffle prizes throughout the year, allowing our staff, and their friends and families to bag themselves excellent prizes.
Throughout the year, PCH has worked closely with the Luna’s Fund team and Aimee Green, CEO of Luna’s Fund, with their support maximising every fundraising opportunity.
Aimee said: “On behalf of all of the trustees, the team and beneficiaries of Luna’s Fund, we would like to say a huge heartfelt thank you to PCH for the unwavering support they have shown us during the past 12 months.
“£7027.30 is a staggering amount which during the last year has been used to support almost 10 families.
“The impact of baby loss is so huge and overwhelming, and escaping from this reality for a relaxing getaway is a priceless gift.
“The reassurance offered during pregnancy after loss with our additional scans has an immeasurable impact to couples trying to navigate this complex and anxious time.
“The charity steering group and employees at PCH have volunteered their time through fundraising events and initiatives to help us on our mission and we are so grateful.
“With hope, support and purpose we will continue offering a lifeline after loss to bereaved and expectant parents in Devon and Cornwall.”
Rebecca Hocking, Communications Officer and Charity Steering Group Lead, said: “It has been wonderful to work alongside Luna’s Fund for the last 12 months, raising vital funds for such an important charity in the city of Plymouth and beyond.
“The charity has been widely supported by our staff, contractors and their friends and families through attending our annual charity quiz and football match, by donating amazing prizes to our raffles and so much more.
“We wish Luna’s Fund every success for their future, and we look forward to following their charity journey as they continue to blossom and provide much needed support to individuals across Devon and Cornwall when they need it most.”
