We’re delighted to announce that David Greenhalgh has joined the PCH Board.

Bringing with him over 45 years of experience in the housing sector, the proud Yorkshireman has held senior and Executive Director roles across several large social housing providers, as well as non-executive roles on several Boards.

Starting as a housing officer in Bradford, David soon found that social housing was a perfect fit with his personal values and went on to secure a Degree in Housing.

Over the course of a long and varied career, David has worked across almost every discipline in housing. But it was within asset management, including repairs, maintenance and compliance that David felt most at home, finding that as Executive Director of LiveWest he could help and influence the strategic direction of crucial services to residents, whilst ensuring his organisation was compliant with all necessary legislation.

After retirement, David found himself missing the day to day work and was soon on an 18-month contract with Magna Housing. As if this wasn’t enough David has for the last 6 years been a Board Member at Green Square Accord, where he took on the role of Chair of the Operations Committee, responsible for all customer-facing services including repairs.

As well as becoming a Board Member of Plymouth Community Homes, David has taken up a Board Member role at Two Rivers Housing, a regional housing provider that looks after 4,000 homes in the Forest of Dean.

Living in a small village near Chippenham, it was a holiday to Bath that first ignited David’s love for the Southwest, becoming a passionate Bath Rugby fan and looking for work in the area soon after.

In his spare time, David keeps busy volunteering in his local village shop as well as looking after a patch in the local churchyard. His favourite football team are his beloved Huddersfield Town who he has watched in over 60 stadiums in the UK, often ticking off which ones are left to visit.

David said: “I’m delighted to have joined the Board at Plymouth Community Homes and proud to be a part of a team that are in the top ten in the UK for their Tenancy Satisfaction Measures. I’m hoping I can bring some of my experience and pass on some of my knowledge to help improve service delivery for our residents. It’s a really challenging time for housing at the moment as there’s limited income available and huge demand on services, as well as changes to safety, compliance and regulation.

“Plymouth Community Homes can be a leader in the sector by improving upon those already impressive TSMs and by listening to our residents and being data smart, we can make more informed decisions for the people who live in our homes.”
