Following the protests in Plymouth earlier this week, we want to let you know that there is support available for anyone in our communities feeling anxious or needing reassurance.
Everyone has the right to feel safe and we will continue to work with Plymouth City Council (PCC), the Police and other community leaders to make sure that Plymouth remains somewhere that our residents feel safe and at home.
PCH and partners across the city are working together to tackle crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour, and aim to promote equality, diversity and inclusivity in our communities.
Paula Williams, Senior Housing Officer for Plymouth Community Homes is part of a new team of organisations and partners committed to supporting community cohesion.
As part of this we have reached out to our commercial tenants and shops in the City Centre to offer help and support during this difficult time.
If you would like to speak with the team at PCC for further advice or support, please contact us at CommunityConnections@plymouth.gov.uk
Further information about hate crime, including third-party reporting centres and agencies offering support, can be found on the Council’s website www.plymouth.gov.uk/hate-crime
To report any incidents of crime or anti-social behaviour, report these directly to Devon and Cornwall Police. Always call 999 in an emergency or when a crime is taking place.
To report non-urgent crime or anti-social behaviour or submit information linked with community tensions, call 101 or report via the Devon and Cornwall Police website www.devon-cornwall.police.uk/ro/report
If you would prefer to submit information to the police anonymously, call Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
If you, or anyone you know, has been a victim of anti-social behaviour or crime and need some additional support, please contact Victim Support.
