Welcome to the third update on our Major Works Investment Programme 2024/25.
We have now reached the halfway stage of the year, and it has been a productive three months since the last update. 128 residents have now received new roofs, and external maintenance and redecoration works have been carried out on an impressive 1075 homes.
We have signed a new bathroom replacement contract with Mitie and the residents who are due to receive new bathrooms between January and March 2025 will start to receive letters shortly.
Residents have also been informing us that keeping their homes affordably warm, healthy, and free from damp can be a challenge. We are delighted to confirm that we have a new loft insulation and lighting contract with LCX. Over the next four months over 130 residents will receive upgrades which will help to improve energy efficiency in homes.
Behind these numbers are the stories of residents whose lives have been changed by the improvements made to their homes.
Residents at Stonehall have said:
"We have been very impressed with the professionalism, cleanliness, and respectfulness shown by all operatives and contractors involved at Stonehall."
"Scott and Steve effectively managed the site, and their consistent on-site presence has been a tremendous source of reassurance for all of the residents. They significantly eased the initial concerns, especially among long-term leaseholders, who were apprehensive that the project might face the multiple challenges experienced during the previous repainting project."
Newcastle Garden resident wanted their thanks noted and were delighted with the hard-working site team.
Alongside improving homes, we’ve also been working with Plymouth University to complete digital scanning and mapping of our Cornish Units. This will help provide useful information about the type and scale of future works which can be undertaken to improve the warmth, safety and health of our homes.
