EDI Cafe – join us at lunchtime to hear from Age UK Plymouth
09 April 25
We’re hosting new lunchtime café sessions here at Plumer House where you can come along and learn about different organisations as part of our drive to raise awareness of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues that affect our residents and staff.
Our first café will be with Age UK Plymouth who will talking about all the services they offer, as well as help and support available for those in need. There will be a chance to ask questions at the end of a short presentation which will cover:
- Information and Advice: includes information on rights and entitlements, local services and support available, as well as advice on staying safe and warm at home and housing options.
- Community Support: Services in the community helping people socialise, learn new skills, take part in physical activities and remain independent in their own homes, including after a hospital stay.
- Dementia Support: Including our Forget Me Nots service for those with early stages of Dementia and our Dementia Day Centre.
- Day Centre: designed to bring people together in a social setting and provide an opportunity to engage in meaningful and stimulating activities, all having a positive impact on physical and mental wellbeing.
- Veterans Project: Supporting Plymouth’s veterans with social activities such as a weekly Sticky Bun Morning, monthly Brunch Clubs, games afternoon and a free counselling service.
We’re holding two sessions on Wednesday 23 April – the first at 12.15pm – 12.45pm and the second straight after at 1.00pm – 1.30pm.
