Connor McKay, a dedicated apprentice plasterer at Plymouth Community Homes, has been proudly recognised with the prestigious British Gypsum Student of the Year Award.

Connor has been studying his plastering apprenticeship at the Greenlight Safety Training Centre in Plympton. Throughout his time there, he has honed his skills to an exceptional level and gained a wealth of valuable experience along the way.

The British Gypsum Awards cover a range of categories which highlight the development of apprentices; high-achieving students; excellence in training delivery; the work of mentors and others in supporting training; and lifetime contributions to the sector.

Connor's esteemed award "Student of the Year" is given to the most exceptional learner nominated by each training provider, and Connor was selected by his provider, Greenlight Safety Training. Connor was presented with a stunning glass trophy from his lead tutor Ryan Millman at Greenlight Safety and Training, with his supportive line manager Kevin Tapp at Plymouth Community Homes by his side.

Kevin Tapp, Repairs Supervisor at Plymouth Community Homes said, " Connor is an example of the excellence and skilful apprentices we strive for, his work ethic and skills should be admired, he has a bright future ahead of him, well done Connor."

Ryan Milman from Greenlight Safety and Training expressed his admiration for Connor, stating, "I am a great admirer of Connor, it has been an absolute pleasure to have been involved in his apprenticeship journey."
