Christmas Winter Wonderland at Devonport Live Café

12 December 24

WX2A7693

On Tuesday 10 December, Devonport Live Café held their very own Christmas Winter Wonderland event at their Café on George Street in Devonport.

Over 100 children and their families attended their event and were able to take part in arts and crafts activities, enjoy free refreshments and have a family photo in a Christmas igloo. The children could also write their very own letters to Santa.

We are delighted to hear that their event was a success, and it was enjoyed by residents living in Devonport and beyond.

Thank you to Jackson Lift Group for the social value donation of 100 selection boxes for the children to enjoy.

Sarah Brown, Manager at Devonport Live, said: “Our Christmas Winter Wonderland event was a huge success, we had over 100 children attend with their families.  We are extremely proud of the community we have and how everyone comes together to have fun and laughter and to create memories.

“Devonport Live is at the heart of the community and is and always will be a source of security, comfort, and support for everyone.

“Families had so much fun having their photographs taken in the igloo and then going on to do arts and crafts and writing their letters to Santa. We would like to thank PCH for donating the igloo and the contractor for donating the selection boxes and thank you to the local councillors for helping provide the financial help to supply the hotdogs.

“I would like to thank my amazing team, a special thank you to Tanya for all her hard work supporting me create this event.”

Louise Turner, Head of Property, Safety & Environmental Services at Plymouth Community Homes, said: “We were delighted to be able to support Devonport Live Café, a community space located in the heart of Devonport with their Christmas Winter Wonderland event for all the family to enjoy.

“Growing up I lived above the shops where the Devonport Live Café is now located, and I know that as a child I would have loved this type of event. I am extremely glad to hear that their annual Christmas event was a huge success, and we hope our residents and the local Devonport community enjoyed their festive celebrations. A huge thank you goes to Devonport Live for their dedication to putting on a brilliant event.”

Sean Drewery, Mechanical and Electrical Manager at Plymouth Community Homes, said: “We are extremely grateful for the social value donation of 100 boxes from Jackson Lift Group to support the Devonport Live Christmas Winter Wonderland event. It is important to us to be able to support local community groups and organisations, and we’re glad to be able to involve our contractors to support the different causes too.”

Thank you to Paula Williams, Senior Housing Officer at Plymouth Community Homes for arranging the delivery of the selection boxes to Devonport Live Café.
